During my visit, I enjoyed a serene sunset view, and the place felt cozy and private as we had the entire venue mostly to ourselves. A minor downside to note is the positioning of the washroom at the end of the terrace area, as customers from the lounge section pass through it to access the facilities. Nevertheless, this was not a significant issue for us.

The service at Bungalow37 is commendable for birthday celebration in KL. I utilized WhatsApp to communicate with them for booking and arranging cakes to be sent directly to the restaurant. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and took the time to explain details about the place and its history.

Despite a wedding taking place on the same night, the venue did not feel overly crowded, and parking was readily available. For added convenience, valet service is offered at RM8 right in front of the restaurant. The ample parking space beside the Bungalow is also provided by them. My dining experience included ordering the mushroom soup, Marrakesh lamb shank, and truffle pesto chicken pasta to share. The portions were decent, with the rich and warming soup complemented by garlic focaccia. The pasta, particularly the creamy pesto with nicely charred chicken, was slightly above average. However, the highlight was the lamb shank, one of the best tasted, bursting with flavors, and featuring tender, fall-off-the-bone meat. It was so good that we polished it off and deemed it a must-order. Trying various dishes, the rice options stood out, including mushroom rice, mushroom pasta (v), Alio olio pasta with seafood, pasta with duck, and turmeric chicken with rice—all tasty and delicious. Drinks, such as the mojito mocktail and Baileys Martini, were well-made, and complimentary water was a bonus.

The environment is quite chill and exquisite, offering both indoor AC and outdoor areas with live band performances. Despite its formal ambiance, Bijan Bar & Restaurant retains a nice, almost formal atmosphere. The menu, completely updated, introduces dishes like cucur udang (prawn fritters), opor rusuk (beef ribs), and pucuk paku (sauteed ferns) that stand out. Notably, none of the dishes were inherently spicy, and if you prefer a bolder flavor, communicating this preference to the servers is recommended.

As a popular spot among tourists, the spice level might be adjusted, as acknowledged by one of the staff members during payment. While the food may not qualify as fine dining, its presentation and quality are commendable, and the prices are reasonable. In our case, a meal for four dishes and two desserts without drinks amounted to RM300. The pandan chicken and sizzling beef with honey sauce stood out as star dishes, contributing to the overall satisfaction.

The upbeat birthday song singing team added a cheerful touch to the birthday celebration in KL, enhancing the lively atmosphere. Despite the positive dining experience, the only downside was the parking situation, requiring payment even on the restaurant’s property.

Rama V Fine Thai Cuisine offers high-quality and authentic Thai food, with notable recommendations for the Spicy Tom Yam Soup (prawn) and regular favorites like Pandan Chicken, Steamed Seabass in Manow Sauce, and Stir-fried Squid with Salted Egg Yolk. With an affordable price tag for a meal that included drinks, an appetizer, and dessert, Rama V proves to be a steal at almost 140 MYR for two people.
