The Seavoy House Wedding Venue Review: An Honest Look at KL’s Hidden Garden Gem

If you are already in the process of searching for the perfect venue for your big day in the Klang Valley, chances are that you have already seen The Seavoy House appearing in your social media news feed. This quaint, two-storey bungalow along Jalan Titiwangsa has been rising to the top of the list for couples seeking the perfect blend of a garden wedding and a city wedding. It’s also one of the top spots that our wedding planner team recommends to couples seeking a dreamy and peaceful vibe.

Venue Basics: Location, Capacity & Booking

The Seavoy House is located at 28, Jalan Titiwangsa, and it is strategically located and surprisingly accessible from Kuala Lumpur and the outskirts of Klang Valley in the state of Selangor. To those coming from Puchong, Cheras, and Petaling Jaya, the road to The Seavoy House is not a difficult one, depending on the traffic condition. The location of the venue is in a residential area, and that in itself gives a sense of exclusiveness.

There is ample parking space provided at this venue that can accommodate 100-150 cars, and they also have a buggy service to escort their older patrons from the parking area to the main building.

It is an ideal venue for an intimate to medium-sized wedding event, specifically for 150-200 guests. This venue is very conducive to holding wedding events because it is connected from the outdoor garden ceremony by the pool to the indoor air-conditioned reception hall. As to booking this venue, the couple can book their desired date 6-12 months prior to the event, especially during peak season like June, September, and December. There is a need to pay a deposit to book this venue, and the rest can be fulfilled through installments.

Incredible Ambiance filled with Aesthetic Features For Amazing Photography

The Seavoy House holds one of the nice ambiances within its pool area that is surrounded by tall trees. This KL wedding venue has successfully incorporated modern minimalist architecture and tranquil greenery, giving a feel of a hidden paradise in the midst of a bustling city. The location of the ceremony, a bridgestyle platform over a koi pond, is the highlight of this venue. The view itself is majestic without any further add-on decorations.

Around 5:30 to 6:30 PM depending on the season, this garden looks absolutely wonderful as the sunset light paints the surroundings beautifully. The light brushed through the tree leaves provides dappled lighting effects that photographers absolutely adore. As the evening hours approach, the string lighting and uplighting provided in this venue make it look absolutely romantic and cozy. The indoor hall also provides high ceilings with floor-to-ceiling glass panels that allow the eye to connect with the garden atmosphere, so no guest in this indoor hall feels out of touch with the garden atmosphere.

For those couples who want to have a modern rustic, garden elegance, or even a minimalist contemporary look and feel, this venue looks wonderful without having to incur extra costs in decor.

Amenities and Facilities: Practical Infrastructure

The Seavoy House not only look incredible, it also comes with essential areas that a wedding would need:

Bridal Suite: A spacious and well-lit room in the bungalow where the couple’s pre-wedding preparation will take place, complete with mirrors, power plug points, and a bathroom.

Groom’s Holding Area: A holding area for the groom and his entourage, located at the ground floor of the bungalow.

Restrooms: Modern and clean, in sufficient numbers to cater to 150-200 guests, although there was a queue at times.

AV & Power: Built-in sound system, projector, and screen.

Catering Facilities: Kitchen area provided for external caterers (and in-house catering, if desired).

Weather Contingency: There was a sheltered indoor area adjacent to the garden that served as a contingency plan on the day of the wedding I attended, as light rains fell. Within 15 minutes, they were able to set up to continue the outdoor event.

One of the noticeable things is that the venue provides basic furniture such as chairs and tables, which are provided in-house, thus cutting costs on hiring compared to other venues that would have to spend money purchasing materials from outside.

Services and Staff: Coordination & Support

The venue is managed by a small but efficient team headed by a coordinator who takes charge of everything, from inquiries to the day of the event. Based on the feedback provided by the couple and observations made on the day of the event, the quality of service would be described as good but overstretched.

Communication during the planning stage of the event was good, except for instances where a reply to an email would take a while, especially during peak wedding season. We strongly suggest using WhatsApp to get quicker replies. The coordinator also held two planning meetings with the couple.

On the wedding day, the provided staffs are enough to make things work. There are a number of staff members who were present on the wedding day to manage the event in terms of flow and troubleshooting.

The policies of 3rd party vendors are also flexible to allow them to participate in the event. The venue has their own list of preferred vendors in terms of catering, flowers, and entertainment, but couples are allowed to bring their own vendors with prior approval and a small fee to be paid to the venue.

Budget Breakdown on Costs and Contracts

Transparency, with regard to costs, is always an essential factor, and The Seavoy House is somewhere in the middle. They offer a venue rental with their package.

Some couples have mentioned that if they want to use external catering that is not on their preferred list, they will incur an additional cost, as will they if they want to use the generator if their event goes past midnight. There’s also cancellation terms that may result in partial refund depending on the period of cancellation.

When it comes to aesthetic and the services provided, couples claim to be quite satisfied and on par with the cost.

Guest Experience: Comfort, Flow & Feedback

If I had to analyze the experience at The Seavoy House from the guest’s point of view, I would say it is a positive experience, but there are a few factors that need to be considered. In terms of accessibility, I think it’s a good experience. For example, the accessibility from the ground level is good, especially when using the pathways through the garden, which is wheelchair-accessible except for a little unevenness on the grass. The provision of the buggy service for parking is good, especially for the elderly.

The comfort level is well-managed. The hall is fully air-conditioned, comfortable, even though it’s a full house. The provision of the outdoor space for the ceremony is naturally shaded under the trees. In the afternoon, before 4 pm, this could be a problem, so the provision of handheld fans or parasols would be good.

Another factor is the quality of food, and this depends on the caterer chosen. For this wedding, the in-house recommended caterer was chosen, and everybody was extremely satisfied with the quality of food. The rendang, lamb biryani, and teh tarik station were some of the major hits for this wedding.

The safety arrangements were also in place. There were people stationed near the pool area, and there were also demarcations done on the ground. There was a minor issue faced in terms of the audio not working properly for the first dance, and it got resolved in two minutes by the sound technician.

It is best to consult with the vendors and coordinator regarding the rain plan so that they will be able to assist in planning a great wedding event in this hidden gem in Titiwangsa.
